Dedicated to providing a system of care that enhances the meaningful life of the elderly and their caregivers.
In 1983 DASH incorporated as a free-standing, community-based, not-for-profit organization. The newly created grass roots agency began providing Elder Choices, in 1984, a bundle of seamless, comprehensive, and collaborative services designed for linking families to appropriate community resources and education. The Other Place began operating as an Adult Daycare program in 1985 and in 1990 became one of 36 Alzheimer’s Daycare Resource centers, in California.
In 1993, DASH converted its adult daycare license to an Adult Day Support Center license, a more comprehensive day program operating alongside the Alzheimer’s Center, thus creating the concept of multi-levels of care The Adult Day Support Center serves dependent older adults who require care and supervision due the their frailty, social isolation, or other conditions. |
